Fiscal Responsibility

Fiscal responsibility is one of the most important duties of a county commissioner because every dollar spent comes from the hardworking taxpayers of Box Elder County. Careful stewardship means not only creating balanced budgets, but also responsibly managing county resources and public assets. Thoughtful planning and disciplined spending help ensure essential services are provided while protecting the public’s tax dollars. Saving taxpayer money wherever possible allows the county to meet current needs while remaining prepared for future challenges.

During my ten years serving on the Perry City Council, I have worked to make practical financial decisions that balance responsible spending with long-term planning. That experience has taught me the importance of asking the right questions, carefully evaluating costs, and making sure every public dollar is spent wisely. As county commissioner, I will continue to focus on managing county assets responsibly, maintaining strong financial reserves, and protecting taxpayer dollars through efficient government and transparent decision-making. My goal is simple: provide dependable services while respecting the hard-earned money of the citizens of Box Elder County.
